HVAC Technician (Construction) - Located in Beautiful North Queensland

An established mechanical construction contractor is seeking qualified HVAC Technicians to join their growing field team delivering commercial and industrial HVAC installations.

Working across construction projects, you will play a key role installing, commissioning and supporting mechanical services systems while working collaboratively with supervisors, project teams and other trades. This is a hands-on role suited to a skilled refrigeration tradesperson who enjoys working on project-based installations and contributing to the successful delivery of mechanical works on active construction sites.

You will be part of a professional team environment that values safety, workmanship, and efficiency while maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.

Job Offering

• Hourly rate up to $48 per hour + superannuation
• Fully maintained company vehicle provided
• Full-time permanent position
• Standard working hours 7:00am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
• Minimum 40 hours per week
• Overtime payable after 7.6 hours per day
• Weekend work available where required with OT and double-time rates applicable

Responsibilities

• Install mechanical HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial construction projects
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure installations meet design and project requirements
• Work closely with supervisors and project teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to program
• Coordinate materials, tools and equipment to maintain smooth workflow on site
• Assist with commissioning, testing and fault identification of installed systems
• Ensure all work complies with workplace safety procedures and site requirements
• Support apprentices and trade assistants on site by providing guidance and practical instruction where required
• Maintain equipment, tools and work areas to a high professional standard
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal teams to support project delivery

Qualifications and Experience

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• Refrigeration Trade QBCC Licence
• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Construction industry experience installing HVAC or mechanical systems
• Strong understanding of safety requirements within construction environments
• Ability to interpret plans and technical documentation
• White Card (General Construction Induction)
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a team
